Princess Gwendolyn grew up being told there were no such things as dragons - then one landed in her courtyard. Wealth and indulgence might have surrounded Princess Gwendolyn since birth, but she's far from blind to injustice. True-hearted and strong-willed, she sees the cruelty and corruption all around her and is committed to restoring fairness and justice to the kingdom when it's finally her turn to ascend the throne. But it's not to Gwendolyn that the people of Aroc look for salvation. It's to that golden age that Gwendolyn's subjects yearn to return - even though she believes such fairy tales are poppycock. Or, are they? When a trusted mentor gifts Gwendolyn with her mother's secret journals, everything she thought she'd known gets thrown into doubt - and the princess discovers that the tales of the dragon speakers weren't just legends. Peeling back generations of lies and falsehood, Gwendolyn realizes that a sinister evil has sunk its roots deep into the heart of her once-fair kingdom; and only the cleansing fire of dragonkind can set her people free. To follow her destiny and restore her kingdom, Gwendolyn must relearn everything she thought she knew, and accept a new destiny very different from her pampered royal birthright.
