Chaos is in the salt-imbued air as a Middle Eastern potentate and his entourage descend upon Martha's Vineyard--to reclaim ceremoniously an emerald necklace stolen from their nation a century earlier. Though Jeff Jackson would rather be fishing with his lady Zee, the ex-Boston cop's credentials make him an indispensable temporary addition to the island's suddenly overtaxed police force. But a very suspicious "suicide" soon transforms Jeff from rent-a-cop to investigator. And when both the jewels and Zee mysteriously vanish, Jackson finds himself doing double duty-and at serious risk of losing everything he loves.
