Miranda wants to live a normal life with her partner, Chris. But when her spirit guide insists she attend a conference at Future Pharmaceutical, she’s contacted by four mystical guardians. Their sacred cave, which they’ve been protecting for centuries, is buried under the pharmaceutical company’s manufacturing plant. As Miranda struggles to discover the mysteries of the cave, she’s threatened by grotesque gremlins, nasty neighbors and her own self-destructive tendencies. Miranda’s friends - an extinct bear, a law student and an Irish ghost - all offer their advice as she tries to figure out how to help the guardians without ruining her relationship, jeopardizing her job, or stranding herself in a parallel world of insanity and violence.
