Die Like a Hero

The death of President William Henry Harrison, after only thirty days in office, has thrown the country into mourning. And now Josiah Beede, military hero and lawyer, finds his services requested by Secretary of State Daniel Webster. Suspicions have been raised as to whether Harrison died by the hand of God or the hand of man--and Webster wants Beede to investigate.

But while compiling a list of suspects--including Vice President Tyler--Beede is distracted by a personal crisis back home in New Hampshire. The husband of the woman he once hoped to marry has disappeared. And now Beetle finds himself pulled in two directions: one concerning the fate of the nation and one the fate of his heart...
