The earlier life of David Charles was just as miserable as his latter one. (A Very Cold Day for a Very Cold Murder) And after his brush with death in Hastings, (Moats, Deaths and Secrets) (To be published shortly) he finds himself serving as a Detective Sergeant in South London when a murder comes his way, which is not what he wants to hear when he has a herd of wildebeest stampeding through his head.
