Death in the Australian Outback

Constable Elizabeth West of the Northern Territory Police arrives for a job interview, she is seeking promotion to Sergeant, the only problem is that the job has already been given to a man, the nephew of a politician who is owed a favor. Elizabeth is up against it but Elizabeth, or West as the two interviewing detectives call her, stands her ground she is her own woman and won't be brow beaten or put down. The job having been already filled is not West's only problem, the two detectives conducting the interview are as loony as Monty Python's Flying Circus.
