About This Book

When Helen finds the home of her dreams, she ignores all stories about ghosts and the fact that no resident or renter had ever stayed more than a few weeks. Then she meets Patrick, the man who haunts her new home. While she believes he may be a ghost and is certain he is not a normal person, she has trouble accepting his claim that he is a vampire.
Patrick has his own reasons for refusing to abandon his home and for not wanting Helen to live there. He understands her attachment to the house and is reluctant but determined to make her leave. Even as his threats become more direct, it’s clear that he doesn’t want to hurt her.
Trying to find out more about Patrick and the reason he lives in the cellar of an abandoned estate, Helen learns of two mysterious deaths that occurred nearby. Investigating the alleged murders, Helen meets her neighbors, some of who make her nervous in a way Patrick can’t. After one of her horses becomes ill, Helen fears someone is deliberately making her horse sick. The obvious suspect is Patrick, but Helen soon learns that Patrick is not her only problem.
When Patrick is targeted by a group of vigilantes who think he’s responsible for the murders, Helen and Patrick must work together to protect each other and their home.
