Daughter of the War

Isolated atop the treacherous West Ridge of LouMorah lives a race of women led by the Temple of Sisters. Since the War of Two Princes, no one has left the safety of the mountains, and no outsider has dared to climb the unforgiving terrain or attempted to breech the temple fortress built into the rocky peaks.

Rea, an orphan coming of age, longs to join the ranks of the Sisters of the Moon, an elite sect of priestesses. Rea's disfavor among the high-ranking sisters worries her that she will instead be assigned to the Sisters of the Hearth, who are little more than servants. When the temple reveals a hidden room containing a mysterious, singing staff just days before the Moon Calling, Rea begins to realize that fate has bigger plans for her.
