Absorbed into the criminal world through his marriage to a mobster’s daughter, the young man gets caught up in a scheme that he fights to escape. In Deceit For Dinner a young newspaper editor ambitious to start his own publication is a suspect in the murder of the paper’s publisher. Other suspects include the publisher’s estranged wife and son. Detectives investigate a mysterious tourism development plan in Mexico which leads to more suspects and murders as well as a complicated job offer. Both novellas capture the lures of making money and a name for yourself-despite the cost.
