Mack Mercy's newest case is a long shot.

Lainey's chance encounter with a horse owner puts Mack on the hunt for a missing racehorse. The prized prospect seemed to have a bright future in racing, and Mack soon learns that there are plenty of bad actors who may have played a role in his disappearance.

Mack is out of his element, though, operating in a world he knows nothing about. And these handicaps won't help him as he tries to figure out who stole the horse…and why.
