In 2003, a businessman responded to a knock at the door of his remote cottage in the Highlands of Scotland. He was shot dead on the threshold, whilst his dinner guests sat in the next room. The killer was never found. Fifteen years later, DCI Dani Bevan and the heavily pregnant DI Alice Mann, attend a conference on the cold case.
