Cumberland County

Set in Cumberland County, North Carolina in the 1980's, the story is about a man who, despite being from the most humble of early life beginnings, achieves much success in his life; only to have virtually everything he had earned taken away from him by a greedy and angry ex-wife who drove him into a state of depressing hopelessness and an effort to end his life by committing suicide. An unusual and strange series of events suddenly changes his life and he becomes very spiritually oriented and successful. His former anger-driven wife, who continues in her unrelenting efforts to destroy him socially and financially, is found dead. Her final act of vengeance against him would be to make it appear that he had killed her. He's convicted of murdering her and sentenced to death, but it would later be proven that she staged a fake death. The story is loaded with emotional and suspenseful situations, ironic twists, spirituality, and deep romance.
