About This Book

When Florida sailor, Johnny Donohue, is asked to deliver a thirty-eight-foot sailboat to Cuba, he and his ex-cop buddy, Lonnie Turner, run straight into some unexpected problems. Although their trip has been sanctioned by the Cuban Government as a mission of mercy funded by Doctors Without Borders, they are treated with hostility and suspicion. Johnny's crime solving antennae go straight up when he becomes involved with a doctor who happens to be the son of a former Soviet era submarine commander. Dr. Andrie Pavnara, has been pressured by the local Cuban authorities to secretly treat patients suffering from Radiation Sickness. Johnny follows a trail of clues that point not only to a modern day crime syndicate but back to the assassination of Jack Kennedy. Kennedy's ability to peacefully resolve the Cuban Missile Crisis caused him to make some enemies within the Soviet military and the KGB. Events from the past and the present come together as Johnny and Lonnie are part of a murder investigation that forces them to attempt an escape from the island nation of Cuba. A bold and risk-laden escape plan that depends on sea conditions in the Florida Straights, place Johnny's life and the lives of his passengers in jeopardy. He pulls out all the stops as he tries to save himself and some local Cuban Exiles.
