We all swim and come back up for air. We all take the plunge to live, and feel, like humans, who just awoke. Our eyes pry open again after lifetimes spent like arctic polar bears, coming back to life after an off-season hibernation. 17-year-old Runo doesn't know much about family or friends. For as long as she can remember, foster homes and loneliness have been everything she knows. Close-knit siblings, Johnny and Sylvia, just moved to a new town for a fresh start. Their mother suffers from addiction, and they each struggle letting others inside. When their lives intersect with Runo's, a journey of personal growth begins. Together, they begin to trust, let down their walls, and seek to understand the various forms of love. At first glance, Johnny and Runo's quick leap into romance seems predictable. But when Runo locates her biological family, and an abrupt crisis sends Sylvia spiraling out of control, everything around them unravels, and sends them on separate paths. Will the deep bond that connects them resurface or is learning how to stand on their own for the best?
