CRISPR is an acronym for a DNA editing process. Any astute high school biology student is capable of using it. CRISPR gene editing kits can be bought on the internet for as little as $150.In the right hands CRISPR can be used to combat and/or eliminate inherited diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, sickle cell anemia, and some forms of diabetes. In the wrong hands, it can be used to create a virus that could cause a pandemic. Currently, there is no legislation restricting the use of CRISPR. This book was written to assist the public in determining whether CRISPR needs to be regulated and, if so, determining what needs to be done.
