About This Book

Five days after Christmas, like everyone else, Harley-Jane Arthur is broke. But, she has a plan. She'll use her artistic talents to sketch her way out of debt. With that in mind, she accepts a commission to be the entertainment at an upscale kids' party. It's a good gig. She should earn enough money to pay her January utilities, put a down payment on a new barn roof, and buy a cheap merlot to toast New Year's Eve—alone.

But, on the day of the party, the balmy weather turns to rain, which turns to sleet, then ice, then snow. Janie is stranded in town with no trains, planes, or Uber. While trying to claim the last taxi in sight, though she doesn't realize it, she witnesses a murder.

Her luck changes when she loses her footing and skids down the icy road on her bottom. After she lands in the arms of her neighbor's brother, Cowboy Matthews, her frozen heart unexpectedly begins to thaw.

Gable Matthews, a.k.a. Cowboy, has been waiting patiently for Harley-Jane to wake up from grieving for her husband. When she's stranded during a snowstorm, rescuing her provides him with an opportunity to move their relationship from his status as her go-to handyman into something a whole lot more romantic.

The weather cooperates, leaving them snowbound together in Gable's apartment. In spite of the wonky furnace, sizzling passion keeps them warm. But lurking outside in the raging blizzard, a taxi-cab-stealing killer will do whatever it takes to silence one of the lovers inside.
