Former professional football player Matt Makaio is struggling to keep his life afloat as a private investigator. Gone are the days of big houses, fancy cars and adoring fans. Instead, Matt is plagued by crippling headaches, an empty bank account and a meager client list. So when Matt is asked to investigate the case of a high school football player who collapsed on the field from an overdose of steroids, Matt attacks the case with the same aggressive style that earned him the nickname "Madman." His investigation leads him down a bloody trail of money, sex and highly-touted football recruits. Matt pushes himself and his body to the brink to discover the source of the drugs and get them out of the game, a game Matt still dearly loves despite it being at the center of his greatest betrayal.
