Cold Fury

Once again, Micah Ann Cameron, the petite, independent, and feisty retired Public Works Director is plunged headfirst into a den of mob-associated human rattlesnakes ready, willing, and venomously able to affect a lethal strike. Mac, a modern-day version of a female John Wayne (sort of) sees herself as sweet and loveable, no matter what anybody else thinks. Invited to make a no-fee presentation on Solid Waste (billed as the Garbage Lady?) at APWAas (America Public Works Association) International Conference in Las Vegas, she jumps at the chance to talk shop, enjoy a free vacation, and visit ex-employee Zeke Shamanski. As part of the conference, a Snow Plow Rodeo is held in the Convention Centeras parking lot. Mac learns that one of the plow drivers is later found out in the desert, murdered. While visiting Zeke and his family, Mac sets off on a self-imposed mission to help Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Detective Nick Ulrick find the killer. Her knack for courting trouble thrusts her into the underworld of crime, and seriously challenges her ability to cope while scrambling to stay alive.
