Cakes and Killers

A successful attorney invites PI Claire aboard his yacht for a champagne brunch, but his rudeness annoys Claire, and she leaves before the champagne bubbles disappear. When he is found murdered on the yacht, Claire is arrested as the prime suspect. As soon as she gets out on bail, Claire is determined to find the real killer. She runs up against loan sharks, hired guns, and, scariest of all, her former underworld nemesis, Michael Bucanetti. On top of that, the dead attorney's vicious children threaten her and make it plain that they'll do anything to get their hands on their father's money.As if Claire doesn't have enough to deal with, Detective Brian Corrigan, her former fiancé, gets involved in the case. It's no surprise that tension between them heats up, tempting Claire even more than the irresistible chocolate fondant on her Aunt Lena's cakes.
