One of their top-selling mystery authors, Matt Anthony, has been arrested for murdering his wife. The publisher wants to support Matt, but doesn't want the bad publicity that goes along with it. So Norm starts digging into the affair to determine himself whether he thinks Matt is guilty. What he discovers is a contradictory set of stories between Matt's friends who heard him threaten to kill his wife-but didn't take it seriously--and Matt's own confession, which he gave to the investigating cop.
