Jill Tanner is hired by a ghost from the past: rocker Del Wren, former lead singer of 1990s Tempe band HardCopper, which was about to make the big time…until the ticket proceeds for their sold out concert at Sun Devil Stadium disappeared and Del was presumed to have perished in a fire at The Club, a hopping venue on Mill Avenue. 17-year old Kylie Silverfield, daughter of prominent Silverfield Homes CEO, was another victim of that fire—around the same time many of Silverfield's new unoccupied homes went up on flames. With only an official Death Certificate as ID, Del wants Jill to find his daughter so a paternity DNA match can be made; get the ticket proceeds back from a crooked Las Vegas promoter; and have Phoenix Channel 11 features reporter Lydia Chambers interview him. Is Del who he says he is? What's in his past that made him run? Does his music offer clues that foreshadow future events?
