Blood Ties

It began as a slow rumble along the fault lines of the world. A shifting of earth and power few proved able to predict before the ground gave way to a higher order. That order came in the form of the daemon draconis and their arrival signaled the departure of another. Freed from their earthly binds, these beasts of legend have taken to the skies once more, ready to rain fire down upon the lands that bore them.

Who stands ready to defend this world against the relentless horde of winged giants? The demoralized lower classes dare not look to the royal families. It is they who would rather see fields burn than hand over their holdings to known rivals. Not the gallant knights and their squires. These were the men who witnessed the first fires set by monsters, the ones who never rode back. So, who stands for mankind against the onslaught from the skies? The only ones left standing amidst the chaos that has engulfed this world: thieves and grifters, those who seek personal gain over the admiration of others. It is their world now and they will make of this world what they want.
