Being Lauren

Single, independent and carefree Jessica meets a dreamy stranger at the height of a thunderstorm. Elsewhere, caught out by the same storm, Lauren struggles with a decision which could change her life, and those of her husband and four young children, forever. Lauren and Jessica: different women, different lives, until. the lightning strikes. Jessica wakes up in hospital - surrounded by a family who insist she is actually Lauren - is it all just a terrible misunderstanding, or has something inexplicable happened? Jessica finds herself alternating between her own single life and the life of Lauren, with all its complications and demands. Only the youngest of Lauren's four-year-old twins seems to realise that she is not his real mother, until Lauren's unconventional sister comes to stay and it becomes apparent that everything is about to unravel - with tragic consequences.
