"Yes, that's me, plain old Alexis. Always the friend and never the girlfriend. Move along, boys, nothing to see here. That's what people see when they look at me. A skinny girl with pale skin and straight black hair," I said as I slapped the patties onto the buns. "Sounds like my kind of woman," Vincent said as he sauntered in and took a seat on a barstool. "Let's not forget those beautiful baby blues and gorgeous smile." "Eavesdrop much?" Sebastian sarcastically asked Vincent. "Just happened to walk in and overhear. Didn't have to wait long for you to put your paw in your mouth. You may call me slick, but when I am interested in a lady, I like to make it known. I just put all my cards on the table and let her decide for herself. I have no interest in playing games or beating around the bush." Vincent turned and looked at me. "Just so you know, Alexis, I am interested in getting to know you. And not just as a friend. I prefer to avoid the friend zone if at all possible."
