About This Book

A Short Story by Acclaimed Short Story Author Barbara Collins
Excerpt
Emma Pratt sat very still at the front of the court-room, waiting for the jury to file in with their verdict. Seated next to her at the small oak table-for-two, was her lawyer, Linda Winters, a middle-aged redhead wearing a tight creme colored suit, sans blouse, that Emma thought was a little too revealing; but then, Emma, being seventy-eight, thought most of what women wore today was too blatantly sexy. She herself was dressed most primly, in a long-sleeved wool navy dress with an old brooch pinned at the neck. It was the only nice dress that she had, Emma having given in to the comfort of slacks years ago.
