As Darkness Falls

As Darkness Falls, Book Two, of A Jake Fleming Investigation: Investigative reporter Jake Fleming, now laid off from his struggling San Francisco newspaper despite two Pulitzers, has elected to remain in London following his investigation of the murder of a friend there. Apart from a developing love interest, he's horrified and intrigued by a developing news story: an apparent reprise of Jack the Ripper in post-Conan Doyle London. He convinces his San Francisco newspaper to re-employ him as a freelancer to cover the story. But this new killer, while as stealthy as the original Ripper, is using both high technology and high finance to fund a planned global apocalypse.
