Stories like this always seem to take place on an island, and this one is no different, as long as you agree that an island is anywhere you feel alone. Raised in a small town, Bill comes to his island--a city--to attend college, and finds friends, finds love, and finds out who he really is. No longer feeling isolated and alone, he begins losing the things that make his life bearable, one by one. Some are taken from him, some he pushes away, and finally there is nothing left but a violent stranger staring back at him when he looks in the mirror. It is only then, when everything he holds dear is gone, that Bill truly learns who he is.
