Following a frantic call from his bartender Carla, private investigator and beachside pub owner Harry Rice makes an all-night drive through the Florida Panhandle to Angel's Cove. In the small coastal town where breathtaking sunsets are as certain as the next day, something dark and sinister is closing in.

The victim is Carla's dad, a man who was persona non grata in Angel's Cove, for reasons unclear to Harry. But he gets the feeling, in this case, that reasons don't matter. Harry's probe, and his presence, put him on unfriendly terms with the local police, medical examiner and fish militia, but that doesn't stop him from exposing a billion-dollar deal where murder is just another way of doing business.
