In 1953 Anna Fehrbach, still remembered as the Countess von Widerstand, is enjoying her Bahamian hideaway, now happily married and contemplating raising a family. It is three years since the last attempt of the Russians to arrest her and take her back to be tried and executed for her Nazi-inspired attempt on the life of Joseph Stalin. Anna has just begun to believe that her arch-enemy, Lavrenty Beria, has at last abandoned the chase.
