Pyotr, a Russian artist, is convinced of the consciousness and genius of animals and sets out to prove it. In a sleepy English village a clash of culture unsettles all with the arrival of a contingent of goths. Lauren the nerd looks forward to a dull day at work which is unexpectedly changed by a host of militant angels. These are some of the characters in a fugue of stories which bears testament that life is a fantastical realm where, when we least expect it, the wonders or horrors may unfurl.
