An Ominous Death

Determined to cheer up an ailing fellow quilter, Maggie Browne and the members of the St. Rose Quilting Bee arrive at the Palo Verde Care Center, fabric, needles and thread in tow. Candy Breckner is recovering well from two broken legs -- but, shockingly, now fears for her life, convinced an "angel of death" is at work at the facility, sending victims prematurely to their final resting place.

Maggie isn't sure what to think...until Candy dies of uncertain causes. Worse, fellow quilter Louise Lombard, who discovered the body, is now the prime suspect. Was Candy right -- is there a killer lurking about the facility? Or, worse, did someone play off Candy's fears as a cover for her murder? Soon Maggie's investigation puts her in as much danger as her deceased friend had faced.
