96-year-old Benedict Morton thinks his family is trying to kill him, so he hires Connor Wood, P.I., to attend his birthday party and sniff out who would do the deed. But when Morton is murdered that night, Wood has to sort it all out with a cast of characters that are clearly antagonistic right from the off. Was it eldest son James, the one who may or may not be the executor of Morton's will? His sister Tracy, who has a vindictive streak a mile long? Their half-brother Peter, who has a short fuse?
