When the loan shark enforcer who beat her up years ago is found murdered, Anna Dawson thinks it's her lucky day. Until she's questioned as a possible suspect. She has an alibi, but not one she's willing to divulge--helping college basketball star Raymond Joseph shave points is not exactly something you share with the cops.

And not just any cop, but Detective Jack Schiller, Anna's recent ex. A man who got a little too close, and seems intent on getting closer.

But the murder is the least of Anna's problems as the point-shaving becomes public and she must call on all her gambling skills to win this hand.
