A Witty Witch Hunt

Maggie recently discovered she is a witch after inheriting her grandmother's Victorian cottage in Coutts, Canada. In the attic, she found her gran's Book of Magic and now lives in the cottage with her cousin Holly, who also turns out to possess magical powers. When they receive an unaffordable utility bill, they decide to cast a spell to attract more prosperity. However, strange things are happening in the border town of Coutts, and some shady people are attempting to smuggle illegal goods across the border. Sam Yellowhorse, sheriff of the neighboring U.S. town Sweetgrass, comes to investigate and coincidentally runs into Maggie during a magic ritual. Sparks fly between them, but what will happen when Sam finds out that Maggie has magical powers..?
