A True Hero

Nicole's life is . . . complicated.

Not only does she have to handle school and fitting in, but she also has to cope with her father's slightly overbearing fiancée, Margaret, while still missing her deceased mother. Then there's her after school job—being a Hero-in-training named Refraction. Luckily, she has her mentor, Starlight, to help her learn what being a Hero is all about. Juggling all these aspects of her life while keeping her Hero identity secret is a tall order.

But when the mysterious Tifuld Sapphire is stolen from right under her nose, Nicole's life goes haywire. With the power of the Sapphire in a Villain's hands, every Hero is in danger of losing their super human abilities! It's up to Refraction, fellow Super Hero-in-training, Junior Justice, and a thief named Finch to save the Sapphire, the world's Heroes, and to learn what it means to become true heroes . . . while maybe figuring out how to accept Margaret along the way.
