Shocked that someone she knew fifteen years ago is trying to find her via a radio programme, Rachel Weston remembers the feelings she once had for the man who is looking for her. Deciding to ring the contact number, leads her to spend the summer at Ransome's Point. It's the house where Alex Finn the novelist lives with his wife Kate. The house stands on a promotory and during a summer heatwave events culminate in two murders. The story begins with Rachel standing outside the house, ten years have passed since the murders. By returning to the place, where she lost a vital slice of her memory, will she be able to remember what happened on that night of the storm?
