A Thousand Paper Dragons

Riloh Delniah has the perfect life - he's the prince of a magical kingdom, he's engaged to a beautiful princess, and his feats of strength and bravery are legendary. But all of that changes when he is bitten by a dragon and sent to an alternate world to be healed. He wakes up in a hospital room surrounded by strangers, with no idea why he was brought there or how to find his way back home. Critically injured in a land where magic doesn't exist, Riloh meets Sophie, a terminally ill girl who accepts his unbelievable story and teaches him how to live in a place where princes and dragons are nothing more than fairytales. Riloh begins to grow comfortable with his new life, and he almost lets himself forget about the home he's been missing.
