A Simple Wish

John Henderson always knew something was missing in his life and, like most people, assumed it was his mother who had died five years previous. Upon gaining a wish from a mysterious girl in the middle of the night, it was obvious in John's mind what that wish would be. John, however, didn't expect what he got. When awakening the following morning, his wish had actually come true. The 'something' missing in his life actually turned out to be far beyond his comprehension, and in this parallel universe he suddenly finds himself in, John has a lot to learn and even more to understand on how things can be so different.
