A Pauper's Shroud

DI Morag Munro is having a bad day. She and the rest of the detectives in the Crime Support Services Unit are under pressure to apprehend a serial rapist terrorising the city. With no forensic evidence or witness accounts, they might as well be hunting the fabled monster with which Inverness shares its name. Then the discovery of eight year old Claire Anderson's body in the ruins of the old Craig Dunain Asylum shows the newly promoted Inspector how much worse her day can get. As Munro starts to pick apart the lives of the victim's family and friends, she soon discovers the majority of monsters are so mundane as to go unnoticed, and that even the obvious ones are not all that they appear.
