Secrets of the sea... After some intensive research for Mr. Vincent Snape, a stockbroker interested in the financial aspects of recent divorce rulings, lawyer Lennox Kemp embarks on a matrimonial inquest of his own - as he contemplates once again entering that blessed state.

But his romantic holiday gives way to an obsessive search along the tempestuous Cornwall coast - when he encounters the lovely and oddly disturbed Mrs. Mirabel Snape, her young lover, and a decapitated head on the beach.
