Does the old Jekyl & Hyde tale change when the protagonist is a woman?
It does indeed when Dr. Jaquelle is altruistic but timid on the one hand but discovers an alter ego that is a wanton sexy seductress on the other.
The good doctor is treating a young atavistic boy with an electronic stimuli to bring him out of a devastating mental condition. It seems to be working so she tries it on herself. She wants to overcome her painful self-consciousness, wants to appeal to the dapper step-father of the boy she's treating. She becomes a sexy wanton seductress, at least temporarily. But then she learns that the boy's step-father has evil intentions, wants to kill the boy and make it look like the therapy did it. So Dr. Jaquelle's alter ego comes to the rescue. And therein lies the rub as what seemed evil turns out to be good and what seemed good is evil and they battle it out, with a fitting conclusion.
