A Case of Overkill

Amid beautiful snowscapes and elegant living at a White Mountain ski resort, a supposed accidental death acts as catalyst for two separate events. Greg, a rock climber who can't wait to get to some of the area's peaks, finds it impossible to ignore inconsistencies in the death he was near-witness to. At the same time, a middle-aged woman pursues her heart's desire: a lone visit to the national park. Greg, intent on investigation, finds himself diverted into helping the local search team. The diversion, the team itself, and incidents on the hiking trails all confirm his doubts about the earlier death. With growing suspicions and a fearful collection of near-clues, Greg finds help from two unlikely sources—an aging tractor-trailer driver and an elderly fuss-pot with a full measure of curiosity. Gradually, he begins to question who that "accidental death" was intended for. Another perilous accident awaits…
