A Brand New Hell

Liz Barnes, the dark-hearted heroine of A Brand New Hell, is a successful real estate developer who plans to pave over as much of the Chesapeake Bay as possible. Liz schemes to acquire Eastern Neck Island, and turn it into an exclusive community for the Super-Rich. Rock Hall watermen like Crowbar, Seasnake and his son, Junior, fire up their workboats and head down the Chesapeake, as the modern ways of Liz' Western Shore head east across the Bay and threaten to ruin their way of life. Meanwhile, Liz' brilliant husband, George, works on top secret projects for Universal Solutions Unlimited (USU), a shadowy defense contractor. His latest plan carries him to the Eastern Shore, where he runs into the watermen and Millie, the mysterious Mediterranean beauty. The story lines eventually converge on Eastern Neck Island itself, as Hurricane Gabriela rages up the Bay. Will the Island survive the threat from the Western Shore? The answers to these questions are comical and unexpected.
