The Healing One: Book One of the Dreamwalker Trilogy

The Healing One begins the Dreamwalker Trilogy with the story of Bright Star, a teenage girl living in the northern Arizona high desert in A.D. 1200. Guided by a golden eagle, she dreamwalks for the first time and enters another reality: a spirit world. In this new world, Bright Star finds her injured father and is able to bring him help. She doubts her dream, but explains it to her clan's Healing One, a medicine woman who is also her grandmother. Her grandmother recognizes Bright Star's dreamwalking as a sign that she will one day replace her as the Healing One for the people. But when Bright Star's father dies in spite of the healing rituals performed, she refuses to learn the healing ways. Her dreamwalks continue until she reluctantly promises to journey into the desert to save a dying girl. This dangerous journey changes Bright Star's life forever.
