Sarah Brown is the unwed mother of Charity, a child with spina bifada. She is struggling to complete her education and obtain custody of her child. With God's help, her life is starting to come together.

Jeff Blair has followed his dad's footsteps by fathering a child out of wedlock. No we blames little Charity's health situation on his lack of knowledge of his own father's medical background. He is doing his best to be available to his daughter, and he's amazed at how comfortable he is with Sarah and Charity.
