ERETH IS HAVING A DREADFUL BIRTHDAY!

No one, not even his best friend, the deer mouse Poppy, remembers Preth's birthday. At least that's
what the old porcupine thinks. Determined to celebrate alone, he sets off into the forest to search for his own present Maybe jellied walrus warts he'll find some, delicious salt!

Along the way, Ereth comes upon an injured mother lox, who begs him to look after her children. When the lox dies, Ereth is suddenly foster father to three boisterous young kits, Ike's even too busy to notice a vicious fisher, Marty, stalking him. Ereth's walk in the woods has become the adventure of a lifetime!
