Graduating with valedictorian honors from Summerwind High, Amy Weaver had felt only sadness and disappointment when her father showed no joy over her four-year nursing scholarship. She often longed to hear words of love from the man who had worn the same stoic expression for as long as she could remember.

When Amy is called home from college to care for her mother, who passes away suddenly from surgical complications, she is left alone to sort through her father's papers and files. In doing so, she discovers both a shocking secret her mother kept and a mystery of her father's. But even more than that, Amy discovers the love that unlocks the door to true love.
