About This Book

Zettlers Route 66 Store presents five tales of Old Route 66 from "The Wind in the Junipers" for young, and young-at-heart readers by J.Franklin Green. Also a history of Zettler's store from 1930 to the present. It includes a brief history of the town of Ash Fork, Az and a bonus brief biography of Woody Guthrie who made his name in the dust bowl era of the Great Depression along "The Mother Road." All of the stories are set in Northern Arizona from Seligman to Ash Fork to Flagstaff, but the majority take place right in Ash Fork Arizona. All written by an Arizona author at his cabins in the remote hills above Ash Fork amid the howls of coyotes, hooting owls and the sound of the wind in the junipers to stir his imagination.
