Lucie is making plans to depart her small Illinois town and see the world when an old flame shows up and her plans go awry. A week later, she finds herself in the mountains of North Carolina, married to Cain Cantrell, learning to make gourmet chocolate and run a small business. Cain doesn't explain the ongoing feud between him and the town's other chocolatiers, and when he abandons Lucie for good, she must decide whether to carry on his vendetta or seek the truth about Mark Henley and his family.
