About This Book

This hilarious and timely parody of The Handmaid's Tale follows the hopeless and infertile Dud Wimpole, mistakenly judged to be a potent breeding machine, and assigned to the household of the mighty and mad Commandress Roseanne, with the mission - to impregnate her by the end of the month. Dud must navigate a dystopian future in which the gender divide has widened to extreme proportions, to the detriment of all, while hoping that his complete inability to arouse women doesn't inadvertently arouse suspicion. Women on Top: A Dud's Tale is an affectionate spoof of The Handmaid's Tale, satirising that novel's gender dynamics, while sharing the warning against extremism inherent in Margaret Atwood's original vision.
